It's hard to believe we've been here a week already. so much has been done, but yet there's so much to do. Our work here is so valuable. The people we have met have been a blessing to us in many ways. Here's two short stories...
Floyd and Virginia Fricke were two people that we've come to know. Dave (our actual GC) and his crew framed out their house last April. This week our team worked on their plumbing and various other projects at the house. During this week, Floyd had two heart attacks. Last night in the hospital, Floyd accepted Christ into his life. We aren't sure Floyd will ever live to see this earthly house finished, but we know where he will spend eternity.
Three of our teams combined on a home for our last two days. It's a huge project. We've put the roof on, dry walled alot of the inside as well as many other jobs . We saw hope in the homeowners' eyes for the first time in a long time. (Billy and Dixie) They shared their stories about being at churches where they weren't accepted because of their past lifestyles. They now have a church they call home.
The stories go on and on...
We've learned much this week. If you get a chance to talk to one of the 91 people who went, take a few minutes to ask some questions. We are continually blown away how God chooses to use simple people to advance his Kingdom. We are humbled to be part of it.
